THE POOL

The swimming pool is situated in the garden at the front of the house. It is an old stone basin 5.50 by 20 metres in size, fed by the spring water which flows into the spring-house from the hill beyond. Having been filtered and lightly chlorinated, this water flows from the upper basin over the waterfall and into the swimming pool.

The terrace beside the swimming pool is made of the terracotta tiles which originally formed the bottom of the basin. The basin has been lined with natural-coloured concrete/rubber to retain its fine “Roman” greenish-blue colour. The filter system and the chlorination installation are housed out of sight in the second of the two original small towers.
