THE GARDEN

Ferme-Château Coty is defined by agriculture. It is surrounded by a large landscaped garden, bounded by fields. To the west are meadows where fine thoroughbreds (endurance racehorses) graze. To the south is an orchard with vines along its walls and to the east lies the courtyard with barns and stables grouped around it. Beyond the northern perimeter lies the flank of the wooded hill at the foot of which the estate nestles. Agricultural activity may take place on the land in all seasons, without affecting the privacy of residents.

Coty is at its resplendent best when the sunflowers are in bloom in the surrounding fields. On the south side lies the authentic swimming pool surrounded by terraces, and a flat lawn with the occasional enormous tree to provide shade. There are old olive trees and enough roses to pick a good bouquet in August.
