YOUR GROUP
Ferme-Château Coty is ideal for families and large groups of friends who wish to spend their time together at the estate or discover the area and the surrounding towns. The residence is an ideal place to enjoy a holiday around the pool with family and friends, to cook delicious food together and enjoy evenings at the long tables before perhaps watching a good movie in the open barn after sunset.
The apartment in the pigeonière gives onto the courtyard and has its own kitchen and terrace with unobstructed views, plus a large salon with a fireplace. It is perfect for one or two families with young children to spend the day quietly without being separated from the main group. The pigeonière also makes excellent accommodation for any staff travelling with you.

The hotel facilities are ideal for seminars, study groups or companies: the bedrooms have large bathrooms and the four-poster beds are constructed in such a way that they can be converted into two single beds. The canopy above the four-poster bed may be draped between the two beds to visually separate them if the room is being shared.
The “tobacco loft” is suitable for lectures, brainstorming sessions and meetings. To accommodate larger groups or real performances, you can switch to the large barn which has its own stage. Both settings benefit from an inspirational, rustic style.

The kitchen is equipped for cooking with big groups. The long table under the veranda can be used at any time of the day, but it is particularly pleasant at breakfast time when it is bathed in sunlight.
In the evening you can dine at tables on the west side of the house or on the terrace beside the pool as the sun goes down. If the weather is bad, the tobacco loft makes a nice change for dinner. This may be reached from the kitchen via a covered wooden staircase.
There is a large American fridge with an ice-cube maker on the veranda under this staircase. It is out of sight and is large enough to comfortably hold all water, wine and soft drinks bottles for indoors and outdoors.
The pool room, salon, kitchen and large hallway are adjacent to each other. |
The local area is ideal for walking, exploring fine medieval villages, antique markets, horse-riding tours and more. If you have something to celebrate, Michel Trama’s famous restaurant in Puymirol is the perfect choice. It is a 3-star restaurant with an interior that was created in a particularly dramatic castle style by the interior designer Garcia some years ago. People come to dine here from far beyond France’s borders, so it is nice to think that a culinary experience like this can be enjoyed just 5 minutes away from Coty. Lunch prices are very reasonable and lunchtimes are less heavily booked.
The beautiful cities of Toulouse and Bordeaux are 1 and 1½ hours’ drive away, respectively. Both are also easily reached by train from Agen. A world-famous “attraction” is St. Emilion near Bordeaux. Although busy in summer, it is a fascinating authentic wine town. It is surrounded by famous vineyards and is certainly worth a visit in combination with a tour of one of the wine estates.

You need to travel a little further to reach the sea on the west coast, for example at Arachon. This is harder to do in a day. Closer to Coty, children will enjoy Walibi, a water theme park in Agen, 20 minutes from Coty. The little ones will enjoy paddling in the clean water of the Séoune by the waterfall at “Rikiki-plage”. Here there is a small, wide sandy beach between the trees and a tree with a rope attached to it for playing Tarzan. You may well have the place to yourself, although sometimes other families spread out their picnic cloths on the meadow too.
